This is yesterday’s picture of a Great Cormorant flying over the house.

It was one of the few birds I saw while trying to gather some observations for the traditional New Years day competition for Bird Life Denmark/DOF.

I got up very late after a bad night (with young people running around in the street putting toilet paper on cars) and only managed to be in the garden for about 45 min. resulting in only 12 common species. The cormorant was the best of them, also because I was hoping for it as it had showed up two years ago on that date.

In the evening, just before dark, I finally saw a Blue tit in town. Imagen struggling to see a Blue tit.. so the grand total for the whole day was …13 species…
